Our History

Founded in 1895 by T.E. Swann in downtown Tyler, Texas, Swann’s Furniture & Design has been a family-owned business for over a century. Originally known for receiving merchandise by rail car and using horse-drawn carts for delivery, the company evolved under the leadership of T.E. Swann’s cousin, Elam Franklin Swann, Sr., who shifted the focus to furniture in 1920.

Generations later, Elam Franklin Swann III and IV continued to grow the business, moving to new locations and expanding the showroom. Today, Swann’s offers timeless, high-quality home furnishings, guided by the same commitment to customer service and community involvement that T.E. Swann instilled in 1895.
